VoxStar Privacy Policy

VoxStar (the "app") is a personal project. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the app, why we collect it, and your rights.
1. Data we collect
Account info: When you sign in with Google or Apple, the provider shares your email address and (if available) display name with us. We never see or store your password — sign-in happens entirely through Google/Apple.
Content you create: The text you type to be spoken, the character you choose, and the generated audio file are saved to your account (History tab).
Credits and purchases: We keep your credit balance. Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat — your card details never reach us.
Device info: Your first 3 free voiceovers are limited per device; we store an anonymous device identifier for this (to prevent abuse).
Support requests: Messages you send us and our replies.
Error and activity logs: errors that occur in the app (platform, app version, screen name) and records of your account activity (sign-in, voiceovers, purchases, credit changes). These records never contain your voiceover text, email address or IP address.
We do not use your data for ad tracking, and we do not use third-party analytics.
2. Why we process your data
To create and manage your account, provide the voiceover feature, track your credit balance, respond to support requests, and prevent abuse (e.g. fake accounts re-claiming the free welcome credits).
3. Who we share your data with
We only share data with the service providers needed to run the app: Google/Apple (sign-in), Apple App Store / Google Play / RevenueCat (purchase processing), SesLab (the text you type is sent to generate audio), Cloudflare (storage of generated audio files), MongoDB Atlas / Railway (database and server hosting).
We do not sell or rent your data to advertisers.
4. How long we keep your data
We keep your data while your account is active. Error and activity logs are kept for 90 days and server request logs for 14 days; records of credit and account operations are kept for 1 year.
When you delete your account (Profile → Delete account), your name, email address, voiceover texts, audio files and support messages are deleted. To answer support requests and prevent abuse, we keep an irreversible hash of your email address (never the address itself), your credit and purchase history, and your account activity records for 1 year after the deletion; after that they are deleted automatically.
The device identifier is an exception — it's kept even after account deletion, to prevent the same device from re-claiming the free trial.
5. Your rights
You can permanently delete your account at any time from inside the app. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, or object to the processing of your data. For any other request, contact: voxstar@proton.me
6. Children's privacy
The app is intended for a general audience; we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
7. Changes
We may update this policy; significant changes will be communicated in the app. The current text always appears on this page and in the app's Privacy screen.
8. Copyright notices
Most character voices are licensed from third-party AI voice providers (e.g. ElevenLabs); some voices and artwork may come from other sources. If you believe content in the app infringes your copyright or personality rights, email voxstar@proton.me describing the content and your rights.
